Documentation

The two primary printed sources for most of the family tree information in this site are:

Sources for much of the "newer" generations exist but are not cited here to help protect the privacy of living relatives.  If there is a need for such sources and the need and legitimacy of the requestor are validated, the Webmaster will share select information.  Contact the Webmaster via e-mail.

The following three documents were originally typewritten pages of a translation of part of the book The Family Meidell in Norway and Denmark cited above.  The webmaster scanned the original typewritten pages as text and edited them for minor scan-to-text errors including character substitutions and formatting. Occasionally, the original had confusing footnotes and in these cases, the editor has noted the confusion.

The Webmaster also has the original typewritten pages as jpeg scans should one wish to see the original translation.  However, the files of each page are very large (approximately 5MB).  There are approximately 45 pages.  The edited PDF files, available below, are faithfully recreated except as previously noted.

It is the Webmaster's understanding there are a few of the 2-volume Gloersen Forester books in the hands of family members in Norway.  The book is written in Norwegian, but the Webmaster has heard an understanding of Danish helps the reading.

This translation was commisioned by someone in the Webmaster's family  line (Stephan Jacob Pritzier Meidell or offspring) and, as such, is focused upon the Flesje-line.
